Video Projects
Here are a few video projects, some are fun pieces from grad school and some are for run or were inde projects.
NOSFERATU
This is a Sound Design Project for my Graduate work at Northwestern. I brought in some strings players and recorded some of their sounds then passed them through a filter and then ran my mix tracks through a Nagra to get some cool analog noise and give it some otherworldly quality.
CINEMATOGRAPHY COLLABORATION
This was a collaboration with students in a cinematography class. I received Picture Lock three days before the presentation so the turnaround was pretty quick. All sounds are original recordings except for one background.
WIND MIX
Took the first portion of The Wind and did an original design. Combination of foley and library effects. I also provided the voice work.
LA LINEA MIX
This is to La Linea. I Stripped the audio and added my own sound design and used mumble voice to voice the character.

ELEVATOR MUSIC
(GRADUATE STUDY IN SOUND)
I was inspired by a a talk given by sound artist Jeff Kolar. I became fascinated by the sounds around us in everyday life and how Environmental music has changed with the advent of streaming services. I started noticing how Muzak and Environmental music aren't as prevalent and when music is employed it tends to be playlists through streaming services or Pandora stations that can feel more like amalgamations of every song the person or persons who contributed to the list have ever heard.
Then one day I noticed that elevator rides tend to be shared in awkward silence aside from the mechanical noises of the individual elevator and then had the idea for a composition. Using the sounds of riding elevators I composed a piece of elevator music and then installed the piece for several weeks in an elevator on the campus of Northwestern University.
INSTALLATION ELEVATOR RECORDING
MY ELEVATOR MUSIC
STANDING ON CEREMONY, COMPOSER/SOUND DESIGNER
Collaborated with group to design an installation performed at Lavere Chapel space on Northwestern campus. Piece was inspired by the perception of traditions and ceremonies associated with fraternity initiations as the space was in the basement of a fraternity. Group and myself complied different samples and using Abelton Live I composed and performed the piece for a class project.
QUEST FOR KNOWLEDGE (WINTER 2017)
Worked with the Beta version of Detour, app designed for mobile walking tour content. Attempted to use the app as way to compose location based sound pieces. First attempt was at Northwestern’s library. Discovered that there are limitations to the precision of trigger points when designing with the app for indoor locations. Here you can listen to a linear progression of the trigger points if you were walking the route of the piece.
You can read more about the process and the class it was created for here:
